Donald Trump Takes On A Rising Ted Cruz

“I was against going into Iraq”, Trump told CNN host Jake Tapper in an interview that aired on Sunday. I have great judgment.

To be sure, white evangelicals are a lot thinner on the ground in the Granite State than they are in Iowa – or in the South, where Cruz might be expected to recover.

Trump said he continues to lead in the public opinion polls and each time he makes a controversial statement and people say, “That’s it, it’s over”, his staff comes to him with new survey results showing his popularity has gone up.

Trump also described super PACs as “no good” and noted that he doesn’t have a super PAC officially supporting his candidacy.

“He’s been so nice to me”. However, he has said he does not agree with Mr. Trump’s latest proposal to restrict all Muslim immigrants entering the United States.

“He’s not ready to be president, he’s a first-term USA senator, we just went through that”, Christie said.

Ben Carson trails Trump in second with 12-percent, and US Senator Ted Cruz and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush are tied in third with 10 percent support.

“You look at Paris, you look at San Bernardino, it’s given a seriousness to this race”, Cruz said. “But also the guy who offers an optimistic vision for the country going forward and who’s not part of the clown show, the circus and the back biting that this race has devolved into”. Who understands the threats we face?

“Who am I comfortable having their finger on the button?”

“The Establishment’s only hope: Trump & me in a cage match”, he tweeted.

Johnson said she did not think she would vote if Trump is not on the ballot.

“There is no way that I, or anybody else who is running, is an expert in every area”, he said, and pointed to the way chief executives run their companies. “Tremendously big, number one bestsellers, including “The Art of the Deal”, which may be the best in terms of business books”.

“You can’t walk into the Senate and scream and call people liars and not be able to cajole and get along with people”, Trump said, referring to Cruz’s accusation that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell had not been truthful in negotiations.

Johnson’s son Alex also was on board with Trump, noting, “Everyone expected he’d fall off by now, but he hasn’t”. “I think the whole politically correct stuff – he’s thrown it out the window, and he’s been real, and that’s what I like”.

“I’m more capable. Because I have a much better temperament”. Next week, he plans to tour through Nevada, Minnesota, Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas and Oklahoma, states that vote on March 1 in an effort to gain support before attention turns to contests in Iowa and New Hampshire.

For five months, Cruz has refused to criticize Trump even as the rest of the Republican field turned on him for a series of incendiary comments.
