Bengals’ Andy Dalton Won’t Need Surgery to Repair Broken Thumb
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton, right, tackles Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Stephon Tuitt, center left, after Tuitt caught an interception in the first half of an NFL football game, Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, in Ci… He had an appointment Monday with a specialist, who recommended that the fracture could heal without surgery. They also left Cincinnati knowing they wouldn’t mind going back to Paul Brown Stadium for an AFC wild-card game. Dalton’s hand will remain in a cast for now.

The coach said sometimes that goes for more than quarterbacks. He won’t play this week. “As we move forward we’ll see how he is each and every week and it’ll be up to Andy and the doctors”.
Dalton’s replacement-former University of Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron-found a bit of success against the Steelers secondary.
McCarron, who had thrown just four passes this season, was immediately effective after replacing Dalton.
Hard-to-believe factoids aside, McCarron says Sunday’s matchup against the 49ers has nothing to do with winning one for his alma mater. Because I don’t think we need to.
And with that the team will re-take the practice field on Wednesday to prepare to face the Denver Broncos in hopes of securing a playoff spot. He had 23 carries for 76 yards for a 3.3 average, well below his 4.9 season average. It’s not going to be easy down the stretch, starting in Week 15 against a Broncos team that is due to be in a bad mood after losing its first game since Brock Osweiler assumed starting duties.
Head coach John Fox said wide receiver Marquess Wilson, placed on IR last week, had foot surgery.
The extent of the injury was not released, but Tomlin said Mitchell could be “uncomfortable” this week as the team gets ready for their final regular season game at Heinz Field. “You just try to mirror the way he plays”.
“Everybody knows where we’re going”, Jackson said. We got some penalties and got behind the chains, but we converted third downs a lot early. That’s what I put forth on that talking about what he made of his opportunity.
-SPECIAL TEAMS: B. This unit didn’t factor much in this game, although the Bengals still miss Adam Jones’ presence on punt returns. If he does practice this week, Luck cannot yet predict whether he could play in this weekend’s game against AFC South co-leader Houston.
“Throwing felt great”, Luck said. When he entered the game, there was no drop in the play calling from the sideline. Is there 100 percent agreement with officials?
The Steelers (8-5) rumbled with the Bengals during pregame warm-ups and then led the whole way, sending Cincinnati to its first lopsided loss of the season.
“He took a beating last night”, O’Brien said.
The Bengals (10-3) are on the verge of clinching their fifth straight playoff spot. In fact, Cincinnati hasn’t even won a playoff game since the 1990 postseason, while San Francisco has been in the playoffs a dozen times since then.
McCarron showed all the signs of a quarterback who spent the entire season toting a clipboard. Yates was signed on October 28 following the release of Ryan Mallett, who was let go after missing the team charter to Miami.
Sunday started with talk between Cincinnati linebacker Vontaze Burfict and Steelers linebacker Vince Williams, leading to a skirmish that set the tone for a chippy installment of a rapidly-heating rivalry.
“It definitely will be a lot easier”, he said.

“I know before the game when all that stuff happened, there were no officials anywhere to be found. And that’s got to be their job, they have to police keeping guys on their side of the 50 yard line. Everything is just another month ahead”.
