Polar Loop 2 fitness tracker takes a page from Apple Watch’s book
Today, Polar announced its new Polar Loop 2 activity tracker that adds vibration alerts, inactivity alerts, smartphone notifications, and three band color options. It even politely vibrates if you’ve been sitting down too long. Dubbed ‘Loop 2, ‘ the new activity tracker introduced by Polar is an adjustable wristband which works with the company’s software to aggregate data on the day-to-day activities of the wearers.

It’s also fully waterproof and features a WR20 rating, making it suitable for swimming.
The Loop 2 activity tracker monitors the users’ daily activities and collects all the details into data which the users can store and review when required. “The soft materials guarantee the bracelet is ideal to be worn day and night”, Tarja Määttä from Polar told Wearable. Users can also pair the Loop 2 with the Polar H7 Bluetooth Smart heart rate sensor for live, accurate heart rate. If users train with a coach or personal trainer, Polar Flow for Coach adds additional training support, as users can connect and share workout information via the web service and receive feedback from coaches. However, the battery life does take a slight hit with the addition of smart notifications.
The Loop 2 is now in direct competition with Fitbit’s Charge and Jawbone’s Up trackers, thanks to the addition of features that focus on the fundamental – notifications.
Polar Loop 2 resembles the sleek and award-winning design of its predecessor, the Polar Loop, with the same illuminating display consisting of 85 individually placed LED lights. The app also received some updates that include a new social feature so that users can motivate each other throughout the day.

The Polar Loop 2 will be on sale in July for €119.95 in white and pink. The black model should be available in September.
