Foggy, chilly morning in Varanasi

According to MeT officials, today’s low was two notches below the season’s average and the relative humidity was reported at 79 per cent.

The national capital experienced clear skies on Monday with the maximum temperature at 21.3 degrees Celsius, a couple of notches above the season’s average. Mist and shallow fog would occur at many places in the morning.

The minimum temperature at Lodhi Road observatory recorded a low of 4.2 degrees Celsius even as Palam registered 6.5 degrees.

“The maximum temperature is expected to hover at 23.2 degrees Celsius”, the weatherman said.

Srinagar – the summer capital of the State – recorded a low of 2.0 degrees, up by almost three degrees from minus 0.8 degrees the previous night.

Cold wave swept in several parts of north India on Sunday with Leh in Ladakh region experiencing the coldest night of the season at minus 12 degrees Celsius, while Himachal Pradesh received another spell of moderate snowfall. The city recorded a low of minus 0.8 degrees as against 0.6 degrees the previous night. The day temperature remained the same on Sunday as well but the minimum temp dropped by 1.1 notches further.
