Delhi BJP slams Kejriwal for politics over infant’s death
Congress targeted both the ruling APP in Delhi and the Centre for not making “alternative” arrangements for sheltering the evicted and questioned how it was possible that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was in the dark about the “massive” demolition drive.

Conforming their involvement toward the protest, TMC leader Derek O’Brian posted on Twitter: “Trinamool gives notice in RS to bring up #ShakurBasti demolition in #parliament Will also join @AamAadmiParty outside Parliament at 10.30”.
Slamming Rahul for taking mileage over the incident, AAP said, “Where was Rahul Gandhi for the 48 hours. Three notices were served to them and finally with police help we removed those encroachments near Shakurbasti station”, Delhi Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Arun Arora said here.
Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Monday dubbed as “untrue” allegations of an infant’s death during a demolition drive in west Delhi and claimed the child died earlier.
They also said that when CM asked them about why proper rehabilitation measures were not taken before demolition, Railway officials said that they will inform their Board and Ministry about it. Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal announced this following a meeting on Monday evening with railway minister Suresh Prabhu.
Petitioner advocate Prem Pal Singh said the plea filed yesterday by a Congress leader had only sought rehabilitation of the people, who were rendered homeless in biting cold.
“We will try to help you”.
Resolving to fight for the poor, Gandhi told the homeless, “Whenever a slum is about to be demolished, call Rahul Gandhi”.
The Aam Aadmi Party blamed the central government for the demolition.
Hundreds were rendered homeless in the winter chill and a six-month-old baby died as authorities demolished some 500 hutments on Saturday. Railway sources, however, have denied the allegations, saying that the death of the child occurred in one of the slums around 10am and had nothing to do with the removal of encroachments. However, the demolition could not be undertaken then because police could not provide assistance then, Arora said.

The report stated that though the child did not have any external injuries, the internal examination of her body revealed that two to four of her left ribs were fractured, a petechia on the superior upper lobe of left lung and bruises on her scalp.
