The missing children were identified as Delylah Tara, 3, and Shaun Tara, 6, police said.

Redding police have learned that Huntsman and Curiel traveled between Salinas, Redding, Shingletown and Quincy between November 27 and December 11.

Death certificates for the slain children were filed in Monterey County, indicating that they may have been killed in Salinas before their bodies were stashed in a storage locker 300 miles north.

It’s not yet clear the relationship between the two dead children, the 9-year-old, and Huntsman, but KSBW reported that the children are siblings and Huntsman is a female relative, but not their mother.

Autopsies for the 3-year-old girl and 6-year-old boy, who bodies were found at a storage facility in Redding, were planned for Wednesday.

Two other children, 12-year-old twins living with Huntsman and Curiel, were placed in foster care, the Plumas News said. The child was taken into protective custody and is being treated for injuries at a Sacramento area hospital, according to Redding police.

“That little girl had been subjected to the most unspeakable measure of torture for an extended period of time”, Plumas County Sheriff Greg Hagwood told the Plumas County News.

Redding police say the two dead have not been identified.

Another official in the district attorney’s office, Berkley Brannon, told the Monterey County Weekly the bodies were those discovered in the storage unit in Redding. Each remained jailed on $1 million bail. “This led to the discovery of two deceased [children] inside a storage unit in the city of Redding” said Plumas County Sheriff’s Sergeant Steve Peay.

The woman and teen made a brief court appearance Tuesday but did not enter pleas.

Nic Coury/AP Investigators with the Salinas Police Crime Scene Investigation unit search the home where police said Huntsman and Curiel had recently lived before moving to a friend’s house in Quincy.

He did say they were reported missing, and last in the custody of Huntsman.

Social services had investigated the Huntsman and her family within the previous year for general neglect, said Elliott Robinson, director of social services for Monterey County.

Orr said she had no idea where the children where until she received a phone call on Monday and found out that two had died.

McMillin said officers responded both times, but refrained from commenting further due to the ongoing investigation.
