Why the Golden State Warriors shouldn’t take the Boston Celtics lightly

Celtics coach Brad Stevens said he will not alter the lineup for the night to counter reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Steph Curry and the heretofore unbeatable Warriors. The Celtics are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 vs. NBA Pacific and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall. “He had a little bit of pain with some of the movements”. That’s why it’s just as important how we play in a Wednesday night game with a lot less media, as tonight’s game.

Before this incredible 23 game winning streak and before winning last year’s championship, the Golden State Warriors were just a team.

Their average margin of victory during their season-long win streak is 14.6 points.

“The 33 number, we can talk about it and not shy away from it”, Curry said. But with injuries possible at any point, and a schedule that will only get tougher from here, an unblemished regular season is at best unlikely. (The Pacers have been allowing opponents just 99.8 points per game.) That moment when you’re down 32 points in the second quarter?

The Golden State Warriors are going for their 28th straight regular-season win when they face the Boston Celtics on Friday night.

At shootaround on Friday, interim coach Luke Walton said of Thompson: “We’re not going to push him, so obviously he wouldn’t do shootaround today”.

The Warriors could be missing the player who was last seen scoring 39 points, hitting 8 of 10 3-pointers in the first half at Indiana.

The Warriors bench is also stacked with players who could easily be starters, and who have been starters in the league in the past.

“You have to want to be the first team to beat them and end their winning streak”, Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas said. “That being said, we’ve got to make sure that we try to play to our standards and focus on what we can control and not get too caught up in it”.

The Warriors are the hottest team in the National Basketball Association right now by far, or, is there a western conference foe quietly on their heels ready to take them down?

The line-up consisting of stars like Stephen Curry, Andre Iguodala, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green have been excellent, as the Warriors’ brand of small ball paired with deadly shooting make them very risky. Curry still can’t quite believe his team is undefeated, repeating after wins lately that its record doesn’t even sound right.

In fact, Loss No. 1 could come this weekend, with back-to-back games at Boston (Friday) and Milwaukee (Saturday).

The Warriors are continuing their push into league history and we, the basketball fans, have bought into them because, man, are they fun to watch. “They’ve got to stop us as well”. “I think Boston is such a great defensive team, with a great home court”.

“We’re a confident group and they’re a confident group”, Crowder said. The Celtics also are going to need all the second-chance points they can get.
