Bryce Brown signed again for depth at running back position

So they are turning to the combination of Michael, Bryce Brown and potentially fullback Derrick Coleman to fill the spot for at least this week against Cleveland and presumably until Lynch returns.

The Seahawks are in search of running back depth with Marshawn Lynch still recovering from hernia surgery and Thomas Rawls have gone down with a season-ending injury last weekend.

When the Seahawks traded him to Dallas, it was assumed that Michael would eventually take over the starting job there. “I don’t know the extent of that because his MRI was at noon and we haven’t heard back yet”. “He’s been in good spirit when we’ve seen him”. “Roster issues made him come and go a little bit here, but we’re happy to get him back”, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said in his press conference last Monday regarding the signing of Brown. He had 47 yards on his first five carries Sunday at Baltimore before his left ankle broke under a pile of Ravens at the end of a run near the goal line on Seattle’s opening offensive drive.

Rawls finishes the season with 830 yards rushing.

Seattle Seahawks running back Christine Michael runs as Arizona Cardinals outside linebacker Alex Okafor pursues during the first half of an NFL football game, Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, in Glendale, Ariz. “He did run on the sidelines and looked pretty good for the first day back”.

Brown has had two brief stints with Seattle this season but he was inactive for his only two games with the team.

The Seahawks had seven players sit out of practice on Wednesday, including strong safety Kam Chancellor, officially listed as having a pelvis injury that he suffered in Sunday’s win at Baltimore. Michael spent time on Washington’s practice squad but was released earlier this week. Carroll said Wednesday there still is no timetable with regards to Lynch’s return. This is a major drop-off from Rawls season average of 5.6 yards per-carry.

Carroll said Hill is also likely out another week. Defensive end Demarcus Dobbs (concussion), who missed the past two games, returned to practice in a limited fashion Wednesday. Carroll said the intent is to keep Jackson as the third-down back as he’s been for most of the year.

“I’ve seen him a number of times, “Carroll said”. “He seems very serious, wants to do something with this opportunity”.
