Fabregas urges Chelsea to perform like a `big player`
Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has implored his teammates to get their act together in order to stop the downward spiral at the Premier League champions.

“If I was a player, I’d be giving a lot more”, Mourinho said after a 2-1 loss to surprise leader Leicester that left Chelsea one point off the relegation zone after 16 games.
Chelsea are 16th with only 15 points from 16 games following Monday’s defeat by table-topping Leicester.
“I worked four days on this match, I prepared everything related to the opponent, I identified four movements where they score nearly every one of their goals”, Mourinho is quoted on Telegraph as saying.
Now Fabregas says there can be no excuses as Chelsea attempt to turn around their season.
“Confidence is important until a certain point”, said Fabregas. ‘When you come from far away and you end up in the Premier League it makes you happy.
“We can not win the Premier League right now but we must do better”.
Chelsea’s next match is at home to 19 placed Sunderland on Saturday. “We’ve put ourselves in this position and we must now prove that we can start winning”, the former Barcelona player said.
SCUNTHORPE United will travel to Chelsea in the third round of the FA Cup – but will Blues boss Jose Mourinho still be at Stamford Bridge to face them?
“This year I’ve played more games and that has helped me”.
The Portuguese turned on his players after the defeat, saying he felt “betrayed” and frustrated, but insisted he would not seek to buy the team out of trouble by signing fresh faces in the January transfer window. I would prefer to continue with the team until the end of the season.
And Mourinho has told his squad he feels he was too soft in the summer and should have moved some of them on before their form started to dip.

“Some people say he needs to be different [but] that is why he is so special because he is who he is”. I just don’t get it. “I have no doubts and I think you know me well enough, three years this time, plus three years another time, that I am not afraid of a big challenge, and in this moment this is a real big challenge”.
