EE recalls power bar due to a fire risk
The firm now says there have been a “very small number of further incidents” where the Bars overheated and could cause a fire risk.

After a previous, small scale recall, it has now been determined that issues with the charging devices could affect more units than formerly thought.
The recall comes mere months after EE recalled a separate batch of the power packs for the same reason, in August. EE said that they are sorry for the inconveniences that this might cause, but the customer’s safety is the company’s priority for now. The mobile company said that they would also give all of their customers returning their power bars a £20 GBP voucher. Unfortunately, in some cases, they have given a dose of problems and put people at risk of owning something that could catch fire, ruin carpets and let you down.
However in August, the operator recalled half a million power bars with the serial number E1-06 as it investigated reports of overheating and burning.
EE topped the list of broadband and mobile complaints in the third quarter of this year. You should then go to your nearest EE store with your Power Bar and hand it in to one of the team.

If it depleted while the customer was out and about, they could swap the charger with a new fully charged one at an EE store. The EE store does have alternative USB chargers available for under £20. “Power Bars from any other batch aren’t affected by this recall”.
