Two students arrested in IN school threats

Police were notified of threats being made on social media just before midnight on Wednesday, the Plainfield Police Department said.

Threats against several students were posted on an alias Facebook account Wednesday night, along with the threat of an attack against the school.

The Danville Community School Corporation says there will be a police presence at Danville High School Thursday after a rumor that a student was going to bring a gun to school. PCSC added that classes would resume January 4, as Thursday was to be the last day of school for students before winter break. The district has more than 265,000 students.

Plainfield Community School Corporation closed Thursday as police investigate an online threat made on Facebook directed toward Plainfield High School.

Thursday also marked the end of the semester for Danville students.

In Miami, school district police immediately contacted law enforcement agencies and made a decision to open schools.

“This investigation involved questioning of all suspects and a search of the residences of those alleged to be involved”.

Police collaborated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and determined the potential threat targeted a school district in Plainfield, Indiana.

On Tuesday, both New York City Public Schools and the Los Angeles Unified School District, the nation’s first- and second-largest public school districts, respectively, received terror threats believed to be hoaxes.

The district announced on its website that schools were opening Thursday after an emailed threat sent to several school district staff and teachers at Pinkston High School and Martinez Elementary School was deemed non-credible.
