Sanders wins Communications Workers of America endorsement
The Communications Workers of America formally backed Sanders after a vote by their 700,000 telecommunications and technology members showed a “decisive majority” supporting his primary bid.

More than 800,000 supporters contributed to the Vermont senator’s White House run as part of the effort that launched Monday, including many for the second or third time, Sanders’ campaign said.
Bernie Sanders has picked up his biggest union endorsement yet.
“We must never forget what happened under the racist ideology of the Nazis, which led to the deaths of millions and millions of people, including family members of mine”, Sanders, who is Jewish, said.
In a statement, posted on the Guild website, the union said: We do so on behalf of our many members who cover politics and government. In California, Texas, New York, New Jersey and OH, where CWA has its largest numbers of members, activists are engaged in worksite actions, staffing phone banks and signing up new contributors to CWA’s political program ahead of the 2016 election.
“That’s a lot more important than a 30-second TV ad and that’s what the CWA brings to the table and that’s why I’m appreciative of their support”, Sanders said at the same press conference. “He could have gotten 22 votes from our executive board”.
Both Democracy for America and the Communications Workers of America could tap members for fundraising support and grassroots organizing. All three Democratic primary candidates say they oppose the TPP, although Sanders opposed the agreement long before Clinton did.
Clinton has locked up almost 20 labor endorsements accounting for about 11 million members, including influential unions, such as the National Education Association and the Service Employees International Union. He’s become the first presidential candidate to do so, surpassing President Barack Obama’s previous record of 1 million individual donations in 2008.

Last week, the Working Families Party, a growing coalition of labor-aligned activists in NY and more than half a dozen other states endorsed Sanders by a large margin.
