First ‘Star Trek 3’ trailer
I would never say that I don’t think that the movie ended up working.

Abrams has discussed the reservations he had about Into Darkness before, having told Wired a few months ago: “I remember starting to shoot Super 8 and Star Trek: Into Darkness and feeling like I hadn’t really solved some fundamental story problems”.
Earlier this week, the first trailer for “Star Trek Beyond” arrived, and reaction was split into two camps: enthusiastic approval from those who enjoyed the the lighter tone, and blockbuster appeal of the movie, and others who thought whatever was being advertised, didn’t look like a “Star Trek” movie. “It’s part of this universe now”.
It used to be that Star Trek fans (Trekkers for all of you not in the know) fell into two very distinct groups: fans of the original series and fans of the Next Generation.
They were of the opinion that what made Star Trek stand apart from the Star Wars of the world was that the show and later, the movies all tried to convey a message, to try to be more than just special effects, cool aliens and ray guns.
He warned fans to have patience and to not be deterred by the trailer. The new Star Trek features an intense plot line of being stuck in an unknown planet for an unknown reason making it more upbeat and exciting.
Directed by Justin Lin, who also directed The Fast and the Furious, the trailer is filled with well-choreographed fight scenes, explosions, vehicle stunts, and a Beastie Boys’ soundtrack, all in a near-utopian atmosphere. “When I saw the teaser, I’m like ‘Aw, s**t”. That doesn’t leave much open to a sequel, so that’s one of the key elements left out in the new movie.
Even as he basks in the glory of directing Star Wars: The Force Awakens, J.J. Abrams is still contending with the fallout from Star Trek Into Darkness. Unfortunately he has changed his tune when it comes to Star Trek Beyond, as he feels that “especially with space and the depth, I think you get a different experience going 3D, so it’s definitely been kind of designed into it”. “With trailers you’re putting a two hour movie into a minute and a half”.

Fans felt that with the Star Trek reboot, the filmmakers had taken all the drama out of the franchise and instead given fans a watered-down, simplistic version of Star Trek which no one wanted. He also added that they are trying to be bold and taking risks with the movie whether they are successful or not.
