The Thursday Night Football slate is winding down for 2015.

Days after having to sit out his team’s game against the Detroit Lions due to a concussion the week before against the Arizona Cardinals, St. Louis Rams cornerback Janoris Jenkins was ruled eligible to play again.

Thursday’s game is just the precursor to several games over the weekend that have playoff-clinching and elimination scenarios.

“In general, you’re asking me after (Sunday’s) game, I love it”, said Tampa bay coach Lovie Smith. “But due to the situation of the game, you kind of stay away from the run (and throw more)”.

Dave Tuley: If this game was on Sunday afternoon, I’m sure a lot of people would pass in regards to betting or even watching this matchup, but it certainly has our attention as a stand-alone game on Thursday night. But that’s how it goes. “It’s not like we had a new O.C. that changed the whole playbook”.

The staff has remained focused throughout the week despite the quick turnaround and in his press conference this week Boras referred to his personal philosophy. Teams are meeting for fourth straight season…. Players are generally off on Tuesday and return for meetings and practices on Wednesday through Saturday before heading off to their destination if it’s a road game. When you’re disappointed you want to make it right, get a chance to come back, ” Smith said. “You never know, you just never know”.

“Physically, your body doesn’t tell you you can do that”, he said. “(But) I really have not asked about what we’re (coaches) going to be wearing”.

Following Wednesday’s practice, Fisher said that WR Stedman Bailey is out of intensive care but still in the hospital and could be out of the hospital in a week or so. The body needs a little bit of time to recover, especially his late in the season. “We’re just trying to focus on our task at hand and move forward”. We have more of a walk-through (Monday). “We ran a couple of different plays but at the end of the day the plays weren’t mattering”.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have always prided themselves on their defense and this year they rank 11th in the National Football League in total defense.

Week 15 Thursday Night starts things off with the 6-7 Bucs and the 5-8 Rams. Tampa Bay isn’t going to win easily, but they will make enough winning plays down the stretch. If Tampa Bay loses and both Minnesota and Seattle wins, then the Bucs would be eliminated.

READY FOR PRIME TIME: With six wins, the Buccaneers have tripled their victory total for last season, when they finished 2-14 and wound up with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.

Jameis Winston, a quarterback from Florida State University, has brought the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back to relevance in his rookie season.

The Buccaneers are well-positioned to be able to stop the Rams’ ground game.

After being limited to just 13 yards in the first half, Gurley exploded for 127 yards and two touchdowns in the second half, including runs of 49, 25 and 21 yards. “He got up to full speed, so we’ll find out how he feels”.

For an offense so elementary that everyone in whatever stadium St. Louis plays in knows that Gurley is pretty much about all the Rams have to offer.
