8 ways to get your ‘Star Wars’ fix in DC

My induction into the cult of Lucas was in 1999 when Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace deeply disappointed men in their 20s and 30s.

As Disney gear up to take over the world with it’s recently purchased Star Wars franchise, the proposed Han Solo film – which is apparently due to start filming in 2017 – has lost a fan. I will say a few things, though, about this ultimate in critic-proof movies.

Wouldn’t you rather watch Lupita Nyong’o in a Todd Haynes movie like Carol?

Fans of the franchise may have already been streaming the prequels to get them ready for The Force Awakens, and now they can listen to all the classic music through Apple Music’s new radio station on the way to theaters. “For things to be whitewashed just doesn’t make sense”, John told V Magazine.

Fans pose in front of the movie sign before the Star Wars: The Force Awakens, screening in Sydney. Just about everything in “The Force Awakens” serves as a pastiche to the original trilogy, including the sandy, snowy and forested planets and the Death Star-style headquarters of mass destruction: Starkiller Base. For older fans, it will be something quite special – a reunion of sorts that many (myself included) probably thought was never going to happen but here we are.

MAYBE Star Wars creator George Lucas should have held out for more money. I’ve loved these characters because they are referenced in our culture constantly.

The Purist – A long time ago in a multiplex far, far away, these fans became fans after witnessing that opening crawl for the very first time. “He has made an adoring copy of ‘Star Wars, ‘ seeking to correct its perceived flaws, without understanding that nothing about that movie’s context or meaning or enormous cultural impact can be duplicated”. “Prepare kids for what they’ll see by talking beforehand”, says Anderson.

Most frequent sayings: • “This is gonna be so good!” And if it didn’t go as well as I was hoping it would, no one would want me to do the next one.

The Lost – It won’t just be hard-core sci-fi nerds going to the theater to see “The Force Awakens”.
