In its November jobs report, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics announced the U.S. preliminary rate for November was 5 percent, also unchanged from the prior month.

State Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said in a statement that Georgia employers created 3,700 jobs in November, which helped drive the unemployment rate down. The jobless rate in the Detroit area was 5.9 percent.
Over the year, the number of claims was up by 5,308, or 18.6 percent, from 28,465 filed in November 2014. Now, for four months in a row that rate has checked in below 6 percent – so it’s no fluke.
– There was job growth in professional and business services, construction, education and health, leisure and hospitality and manufacturing. Those climbed 14 percent from October to November, the department said, with 33,773 individuals filing for benefits statewide, up by 4,144.
State officials are reporting a slight uptick in the unemployment rate in MA even as the state continues to gain jobs.

· The marginal November increase in the state’s jobless rate was the first monthly advance since May. The state’s November workforce total of 4,764,000 was the highest level recorded this year.
