Guardiola to quit Bayern at the end of the season
Pep Guardiola will next week announce he is to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season, according to reports in the German media. Rumors have already linked the two-time Bundesliga championship coach with Manchester City, apparently replacing Manuel Pellegrini next season.

The situation with the 44-year-old has put a number of Premier League clubs on red alert, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City all possible destinations.
Guardiola has been given until this weekend to confirm whether he intends to extend his stay at Bayern, with his current contract due to expire next summer.
Interestingly they also claim that such is the intensity of Guardiola’s work that after managing in La Liga and the Bundesliga he might make the Premier League his last job in club management.
Balague, though, says only Guardiola himself knows the truth: “No matter what people publish, nobody knows what he is going to do”, he is quoted by Sky Sports to have said.
Speculation surrounding his future continues to rumble on, with Chelsea becoming another club he could pitch up at, following their decision to part company with Jose Mourinho.
Hunter’s comments are a blow to Manchester City, who The Mirror had earlier reported are hopeful of appointing him in the summer.
“Even I wouldn’t have tried to pull that one off”, said Bayern’s impressed Germany striker Thomas Mueller when asked about Alonso’s strike. “I am looking forward to it because I came to Bayern to play in big games like this”.
And following Bayern’s 1-0 triumph over Darmstadt in the DFB-Pokal on Tuesday, Guardiola admitted there will be news on his future shortly.
“We’ll discuss it after the first half of the campaign”, Rummenigge said in November.

“I genuinely don’t know where he will go but Manchester United will be high on the list, I would imagine, for the simple reason they are struggling”. “We’ll then come to a decision and we’ll announce it, whatever the outcome”.
