EPL 2015: Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez rules out January move

High-flying Leicester City’s exploits have won the admiration of their next Premier League opponents, with Everton manager Roberto Martinez praising counterpart Claudio Ranieri’s impact since taking over at the King Power Stadium. “Leicester tried very hard to get me”, he continued.

Manager Claudio Ranieri has now confirmed the Ghana worldwide could be out for over a month. The Netherlands worldwide is available to buy from AC Milan for around £2 million and is keen on a return to England, where he helped Manchester City win their first Premier League title in 2012.

Many believe Leicester will eventually fall away, but Martinez believes they have a chance of winning the league.

Earlier this season Leicester City’s Vardy set a new mark when he netted in eleven matches in-a-row, breaking Ruud van Nistelrooy’s ten-game scoring run. I don’t see why they shouldn’t (win it). I think when you see teams like Leicester and the nature of this year’s competition, I think it’s inspirational and it’s something you want every footballer to believe, that you can achieve something that probably you’re not predicted to.

The Algeria global inspired the Foxes to three points over defending champions Chelsea on Monday night after he teed up Jamie Vardy for the home side’s opener before Mahrez curled a delicious finish past Thibaut Courtois.

Of course they are title contenders, why shouldn’t they be?

Let’s not stick to the fact that in other countries we usually find better systems and procedures, and greater discipline, even though these play a decisive role in success or failure. The second group achieves nothing but creates confusion and the illusion that they know who is responsible for our failure.

“He has very good experience and is someone who fitted in well to their dressing room”, Martinez said. Leicester have lost just once so far in the league under the Italian.

“The team and squad ethic we have is why we are top of the league at the moment”.

We reckon it’s about to get a little fraught in the Kirwaan household over the next few days.

James McCarthy faces a late fitness test to assess his availability for the Leicester game but could also be given the all clear. “We can see the light at the end of the tunnel”.
