Fans pack theaters to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens

The devotees, as you might expect, spent hours in line, trading Star Wars anecdotes and comparing Star Wars gear.

His Star Wars adoration isn’t just seeping into his work life, but played a role in his love life.

“I do this a lot to be at the front of my favorite movie…it’s a joy”.

“I had a Star Wars bedroom when I was a kid, all the action figures”, said Kayla Martin. His duty was to perform a 30-second demonstration of his art form before each Star Wars movie showing.

“I’ve been a “Star Wars” fan since I can remember, we have a cat named Greedo”, said Veronica Donohue. We’ve known it was coming since 2012 and now millions of people get to lay their eyes on Star Wars: the Force Awakens for the first time. For the father-and-son duo, this was a bonding experience.

Before most of the public has even seen the new film, it’s already been selected by the American Film Institute as one of the best films of the year.

But as Wednesday night turned into the early hours of Thursday morning, difficulties with projection caused the film to freeze an hour into the showing.

“The princess Leia ears and my Star Wars shirt”, Davenport resident Liz Zimmerman said.

“They didn’t want my helmet to be on while inside the place, but if it wasn’t for that, I would be wearing it”, said Miguel Montanez.

“I’m looking forward to seeing Luke Skywalker”, Tschopp said.

Ian Fraser – from Perth – tweeted at the playhouse at 1:40am, saying: “Dear Perth Playhouse, I suggest you fix the movie quickly or else you might have a riot on your hands”. “There’s an organic quality to film”, said theater manager Michelle Duncan. “She calls him Barf Vader”.
