Bajirao Mastani Controversy: Protest By BJP, 3 Shows Cancelled In Pune
But, several multiplex and single-screen theatres in the city have sought protection from the police in order to screen the movie directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Every religion ask us to love, not to hate.

These are but minor aberrations in a sweeping love story that is mounted on such a grandiose scale and crafted with such vaulting zeal that eventually the smaller details cease to matter.
While Bajirao and Mastani’s love story is fascinating, no doubt, directing more of the screenplay to his military accomplishments could’ve turned it into a far more credible watch. The one fought with swords and spears is not a match for the chiselled knight but the other is so deeply embroiled in the realms of religion, love and pride that it sends tremors to the very foundation of an empire.
The hysterics, the drama, the ultra ornate look; all magnified and mounted with a brilliant background score which is like the Opera during the climax; come together in Bajirao Mastani. This movie is based upon a true king Bajirao, he has two wife’s in named Kashibai and Mastani. this roles are played by Priyanka Chopra and Deepika padukone respectively. Especially the war episodes are spectacular and visually superb.
One and a half stars. For the uninitiated, Bajirao Mastani was first announced with Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai. Forget history, this film is full of chemistry that is so pure that it is heart-warming to experience it. For all its grandeur and Bhansali’s years of dedication, the film is a sure a one-time watch. Her Mastani is all dressed up, and acting away. While “Dilwale” is a mass entertainer, “Bajirao Mastani” is a historical romance, and both have the elements to be a blockbuster.
Among other things, the director admits in the introductory rider that he has taken liberties with facts.
There is hardly anything wrong or controversial in the film except for the Malhari song, which did not work for me personally. But these are stray mentions, and mere diversions: the real action in “Bajirao Mastani” is in the bedrooms and boudoirs and hallways, between Bajirao and fearless “Bundalkhandi” young lady Mastani, with Kashibai valiantly fighting a rearguard action. First half is little bit boring.
However, except in the competently mounted CGI-aided battles scenes, the sky is rarely seen. The film has already got a good craze among viewers.
When it comes to direction, Bajirao Mastani is a sheer cinematic brilliance. Priyanka’s Kashibai is one of the key characters in the film and SLB has layered it beautfiully with wonderful nuances, making us empathise with her predicament as she sees her husband falling in love with someone else.
Deepika is absolutely outstanding as Mastani, a woman in a man’s world, a Muslim in a conservative Chitpavan Brahmin setting, and a mother driven by the power of love. But Deepika could have done more with her part. Her entry scene is kickass.

Bajirao Ballal Bhat (Played by Ranveer Singh) is an ambitious warrior. From the physicality to his mental framework, Ranveer’s got it pitch ideal. There isn’t a boring moment in this colourful and dramatic film that embraces excess with unabashed abandon.
