Marriage, marathons as The Force Awakens for USA fans
The plot of the new film has pretty much been kept on the down-low, but cast info and some basic details about the story have been revealed bit-by-bit over time.

Fifteen-year-old Quidje-Bo Ludwig said her dad has always been a fan of Star Wars and it was great to mark the opening together.
Such a record is, as Darth Vader might say, impressive, most impressive, but the makers of “Star Wars” shouldn’t get cocky.
“Star Wars” fans flooded cinemas around the world Thursday for the first showings of the breathlessly anticipated seventh installment of the space saga, and they floated out on nostalgia and positive reviews.
The verdicts of fans and critics are almost unanimous: The Force is strong with the latest Star Wars film. J.J. Abrams (“Star Trek”) directs the first new “Star Wars” theatrical release since 2005’s “Star Trek: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith”.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is already tipped to break the Australian record for the highest-grossing film, which was set by Avatar ($115.6 million) in 2009.
“Being in love with the universe and me wanting to be part of it, that’s what dressing up is about”, said Lucas.
Terry Hoknes, who was at the opening with friends and family, said opening night was special for him. “But I probably would have been safe coming around 3 p.m.”, he said.
“These were my favorite movies ever since I was a little kid, so I’m really excited they’re making new ones”, said Jerry Sewack.
