Chicago, Cheap Trick, NWA to join Rock Hall of Fame

“The music world has been closely watching the results of the secretive Rock Hall process, after the organization this year dismissed a large contingent of its influential nominating committee and, according to reports, made an effort to expand its membership with younger voters and more women”. Don’t tell anybody.’ I don’t think I’ve gotten any official thing. It’s all legitimized in a way because the whole music industry has to honor the group in a way… “Chicago’s early line-up created such an unmistakable sound and their inclusion into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is not only well-deserved, but an honour that has been overlooked”.

Classic rock icons are coming up big at this year’s Rock and Roll hall of fame, with Chicago, Cheap Trick, Steve Miller, and Deep Purple set to be inducted next year, along with iconic hip hop group N.W.A. Getting our first record deal wasn’t too bad.

“Thanks to all the fans who have supported us for all these years and to the Hall of Fame members who cast their votes”, said bass player Tom Petersson.

So does this new honor mean that we can expect an N.W.A reunion at the induction ceremony? Cheap Trick is finishing their label debut album, titled Bang Zoom Crazy…

Cheap Trick has been primed for the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame and Museum since 2002, but wasn’t nominated until this year’s ballot.

Chicago has already started announcing dates for 2016, including a spring US run with frequent touring partners Earth, Wind & Fire.

Miller also says he understands why the Rock Hall made a decision to induct him solo rather than include members of his group The Steve Miller Band, which has featured 25 different musicians over the years. Tickets for the ceremony will go on sale to the public in February. It’s an album that rightly sits atop the 2015 end-of-year lists for Spin, Rolling Stone, Vice and Billboard, and it’s one which Dr. Dre produced.
