Stephen Curry made nine three-pointers and scored 44 points, leading the undefeated Golden State Warriors to a 112-109 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Saturday.
“They didn’t worry about us, they played their game”, Hollins said. “We made some shots, got a few stops along the way and pulled it out”. The three-point margin matched the smallest of the season for the Warriors, who won 106-103 at Utah on Monday. After falling behind 17 in the opening quarter, Brooklyn scored the final 12 points of the first half, getting within 57-54 on a three-pointer by forward Joe Johnson in the final seconds. Brooklyn went on a 16-0 run over the next 2:53 to take the lead.
Lowry had a career-high 41 points for Toronto. It was down to two points when Curry chose to take over, scoring 11 of his team’s final 13 points in the quarter as the Warriors took an 87-80 lead after three.
Golden State fans were holding their breath in the second quarter when Curry left the court clutching his face following a collision with Raptors forward DeMarre Carroll.
As usual, Stephen Curry saved the day for the Warriors, hitting a couple of clutch three-pointers with over three minutes to go in the game when the Raptors threatened to give Golden State their first loss of the season. “Every night is a new battle”, Curry, who was supported by Klay Thompson (26 points) and Draymond Green (16), told reporters.ABOUT THE NETS (5-14): Brooklyn had a rough Friday night in Madison Square Garden and then failed to get through Saturday’s practice without more bad news, as standout rookie Rondae Hollis-Jefferson suffered a sprained ankle that has him questionable for this one.
Center Festus Ezeli scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Golden State.
“He made some tough shots”.
The Raptors roared back in the second, opening the frame with a 22-9 crun apped by a DeRozan dunk that gave them their first lead since early in the first.
“We definitely fought back”, Brook Lopez (18 points, 8 boards) said.
“It’s really been good – 21 different challenges and we’ve been able to separate each individually and figure out different ways to win”, said Curry, the reigning Most Valuable Player.
The Raptors trailed by as much as 11 points in another sluggish start, and Golden State led 32-21 to end the first. The Golden State Warriors, on an historic streak and the National Basketball Association defending champions, will play against the Pacers on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. Most home games in early December do not generate hype, buzz and hoopla.
“We will rely on our depth as we go into Brooklyn”, Curry said.

But James had help in the form of Damon Jones, who canned 3-of-4 from 3-point range in the fourth quarter, while Wade generated all but five of the Heat’s points on his own.
