‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ sets Fandango record for ticket sales even

They descended on the Scotiabank Theatre at Chinook for a marathon that can only be described as “out of this world”. So just imagine how much larger that number will get once the movie settles into theaters. “The prequels are out of the way and now we just have the classic ones to go and hopefully we can ignore what happened in the prequels as best we can”, laughed Jeremy Ballantine. There was no experimentation involved, which he wanted to do given that he first started out making experimental films before becoming a renowned director for his “Star Wars” movies. “That’s about all the sleep I’ve had in the past 24-48 hours”. “It’s something so incredible that I can’t even describe”. “I grew up with it. My parents showed it to me at the age of 6”, Hasty said. “It’s nice to see them all in theatres”.

Post-screening, Mr Jones added: “I’m still trying to take it all in and will definitely see the film again on Saturday”.

Lucas said there was lack of creative room for him to put his ideas for the franchise of the film.

Dressed as his own Sith Lord, “Darth Newfius”, David Tarrant had a different way of preparing. “I just hope they don’t ruin it, but I’ve got high hopes”, said Brendan Montagne, Star Wars super fan.

The year’s most anticipated movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, doesn’t screen in movie theatres nationwide until tonight, but it has already broken Fandango’s record for the most tickets sold for any film during its entire theatrical run.
