Javier Hernandez reveals why he left Manchester United

Former Arsenal winger Marc Overmars has defended Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal, and believes that his countryman deserves more time at Old Trafford, The Sun reports. Van Gaal, despite his pedigree, has somehow created lifelessness – exactly the opposite of what was expected of him when he was charged with restoring the flair and attacking style for which United teams are so famous.

The 27-year-old Mexican has been revitalised in Germany, scoring 19 goals already this season for club and country.

“I have been confident since the first day and I feel important here, not only for the goals but in all the games that I watch, I see myself in the line-up”.

Mexico star Hernandez has scored 15 goals in his last 12 games for Leverkusen, with United managing just 10 in the same period.

Overmars leaps to the defence of Van Gaal as his fellow Dutchman comes under increased pressure following United’s Champions League group stage exit and a 2-1 defeat by Bournemouth. The only interesting thing about this is, if he did join United, how numerous fans would retrospectively take his side against Patrice Evra.

“I’m sure there are many United fans who would take third or fourth place but play exciting football”.

After Sir Alex Ferguson retired and was succeeded as manager by David Moyes in 2013, Hernandez began to fall out of favour. All my time there was good, with an incredible start, with many opportunities but ended badly because the opportunities decreased.

“I’m so grateful to Ferguson”, he said.

Parker, who now works as a Singapore-based coach, captained Manchester United legends’ team in exhibition games against the Liverpool legends in Singapore and Thailand last month.

According to espnfc.com, the Manchester United board members have chose to call an emergency meeting before the beginning of the January transfer window to discuss the discontent that the players feel under van Gaal’s leadership.

“They’re only two wins away from Leicester at the top of the league, so they’re still very much in the hunt for the title”.
