The Force is performing at light speed with “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” heading for an opening weekend of at least $200 million in the US, early estimates showed Friday.
The new Star Wars film had its first screenings in the United States and Canada on Thursday evening, sales from which are estimated to have made up to $55m (£37m). No masks, face paint and simulated weapons are allowed into the theater.
Chris Liebe, 32, of West Toledo, is one of many parents passing the Star Wars magic along to a new generation. “Now he’s into it”.

“My father brought me to the premiere in 1977 and I was in awe”, said Alan Ciders of Belle. Others expressed skepticism that J.J. The last film, “Revenge of the Sith”, came out in 2005. And most notably, Rentrak reported, 51% said the movie had exceeded their expectations and 45% said it had met expectations while only 5% said it fell short of expectations. “My mom got me into it”, Mr. Liebe said. “I hope it’s better than the last three”.
After wrapping up his work on “The Force Awakens”, Ford experienced another mishap involving a flying machine.
