The Warriors Almost Lost to the Bucks Again…Until They Didn’t
The Golden State Warriors avenged their only defeat of the National Basketball Association season, rallying for a 121-112 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors got revenge on the Milwaukee Bucks last night. “We needed to pick it up on the defensive end”, Green said after Golden State held the Bucks to 19 points in the fourth quarter.
Thompson nominated Milwaukee’s style of play as a reason they nearly beat the Warriors but was proud of the way his teammates responded.
The game ended with Green and Mayo exchanging heated words before Mayo put his hand on Green’s head. Green slapped it away & Khris Middleton then pushed Green. A few other players got involved before everything was broken up and both teams retreated to their locker rooms. Power forward Draymond Green scored eight consecutive points on a three-point play, a layup and a 3-pointer, and Curry made all three free throws after being fouled on a 3-point shot in an 11-point flurry that produced a 100-100 tie with 6:08 to go.
Earlier this week, Green spoke with KNBR about the Carter-Williams situation and added a jab of his own, saying, “Like dude, you lost your [starting] spot”, he said.
Golden State interim coach Luke Walton said he didn’t want to risk making the issue any worse.
Curry scored on a drive and added two free throws and a three-pointer by Andre Iguodala with 1:21 left finally gave the Warriors some cushion at 115-108. Meanwhile, the Bucks held Curry scoreless in the quarter and limited the Warriors to one 3-pointer in seven attempts in the period en route to building the 12-point halftime cushion.NOTES: Bucks C Greg Monroe was given the thumbs-up to return from a two-game absence after testing his sore left knee about an hour before the game….
“They hit shots and the tide turned”, Bucks coach Jason Kidd said. “There was a lot of talk outside of the court and I thought the young guys were doing a really good job of handling the atmosphere and competing”.
The Warriors outscored the Bucks 36-19 in the fourth quarter to pull it out, led in the game by Klay Thompson (27 points), Stephen Curry (26 points) and Green (21 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists). Still, the Bucks weren’t ready to fold despite the Warriors 17-4 run: MCW shocked the universe by calmly burying a three to extend Milwaukee’s lead to 86-80, and a pretty Mayo-to-Parker fast break connection helped the Bucks take an encouraging 93-85 to the fourth.
It was Brandon Rush who got the run started with five straight points after Ezeli started the second half in place of an injured Andrew Bogut and scored the first four points.
Green made a 3-pointer to cut Milwaukee’s lead to 100-97.
The Bucks played a tremendous first half, scoring a season-high 70 points and shooting 60 percent from the field.
Bucks: Former Warriors player Sonny Parker, who is the father of Milwaukee F Jabari Parker, got a nice ovation when shown on the scoreboard in a Warriors shirt and Bucks hat….
“They came out, they wanted a piece of the champs and we weren’t fighting back”, Walton said.
Booed when he first touched the ball and hit in the head by Bogut on a flagrant foul in the first, Carter-Williams backed up pregame talk in which he deemed Green’s comments to be “childish”.
Golden State fans showed they can get into the T-shirt message game, too.

“They took the time out to waste money on the T-shirt, which is cool”, Kidd said.
