It was also Reynolds’ seventh touchdown in the Army-Navy game, the most of any player in the history of the series, dating from 1890.

The next game in 2015 is scheduled for Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field on December 12.

Reynolds became the first Navy quarterback to go 4-0 against Army (2-9). It was fantastic on defense, holding Army to 137 rushing yards on 44 carries.

Jeremiah Briscoe threw for 358 yards and four touchdowns to lead Sam Houston State to victory.

Navy senior quarterback Keenan Reynolds led the Midshipmen in his final regular season game, rushing for 136 yards and two touchdowns while also throwing for another 113 yards and a score. “I thought they played a heck of a football game. He surpassed everybody’s thoughts on how good he was”, Niumatalolo said of Reynolds’ career at Navy. Defensively, this team has just been awful as it ranks 26th in the league in that category and their play on the road has been troubling as well w/ a 2-9 SU record, getting outscored by almost 14 PPG. The Black Knights actually held a 17-14 lead at halftime – the first time they’ve had the advantage at the break since 2009 – on a 39-yard pass from freshman quarterback Chris Carter to Edgar Poe. Navy would score from 1 yard out on QB sneak by Keenan Reynolds for the 14-10 lead early in second quarter.

“The only thing that is really disturbing, to all of us, is the fact that it’s been played out through the course of the week”, Navy athletic director Chet Gladchuk told The Associated Press before Saturday’s game.

Tyler Campbell on a 35-yard pass followed by a six-yard run by plebe tailback Jordan Asberry. Army wasn’t expected to have much of a chance in this one, but it came out with an excellent game plan, putting pressure on Navy with some downfield throws and playing stingy defense for much of the game, holding the Midshipmen to an uncharacteristic 3-of-15 on third down with just 11 first downs all game. Reynolds has thrived on the national stage as one of the best college football players this season and he will prove that once again as the Navy aim to keep their streak alive against Army. Three of those Army fourth quarter drives ended in turnovers while another culminated in a missed 29-yard field goal.

Navy sacked Carter three times and in the second half appeared to rattle him. His two rushing touchdowns, of 58 yards and 1 yard, gave him a Division I record 85 for his career.

People say it’s America’s game and I definitely feel it is worthy of that title.

Reynolds and Carter were both impressive through the air for two run-heavy offenses.

“We have young talent that is going into the offseason and won’t be as young next year”. “Obviously, I would have loved to go on to NY, but it didn’t work out that way”.
