Salvation Army distributes Angel Tree gifts

“This goal is the same as the last few years.” said Pastor Darryl Burry, Executive Director for The Salvation Army Central Okanagan. “We figure we now have about $1,400 to $1,900 worth of value, which we can then sell these coins and turn that into cash to help other people”. Families that were able to live with no heat or water in the warmer weather, find themselves searching for help and shelter.

“Really great, really great. So it’s exciting for me to see these parents coming through today and picking gifts for their children and know the reward the children will experience on Christmas Day”, said Tamayo. Toys were also distributed to families on December 15.
