Wildabouts guitarist Nick Maybury has posted more comments on his bandmate Scott Weiland’s tragic death in the last few days on Twitter in response to mourning fans.
Scott Weiland, the former lead singer of United States rock band Stone Temple Pilots, was high on a cocktail of drugs and alcohol just before his death earlier this month, according to an official report from an autopsy carried out by a U.S. medical examiner.
The report also noted that Weiland suffered from cardiovascular disease and asthma.
“Our hope for Scott has died, but there is still hope for others”. STP broke up in 2002, reunited in 2008, and have continued on without Weiland since his firing in 2013. He would go into rehab and then relapse.
Weiland, who was also part of the Velvet Revolver supergroup with members of Guns N’ Roses, was known for years for his substance abuse.
In between the hits were several arrests for drugs and DUIs.
He performed with the group Velvet Revolver for a number of years and the Wildabouts released their debut album this year.
