The report also said heart disease and asthma were “significant” factors, as was “multi-substance dependence”.

The official cause of death is listed as an “accident”.
“Weiland, 48, passed away in Minnesota on Thursday, Dec. 3 while on tour with his band, Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts”.

“After his death, Bloomington police revealed they had found cocaine on the Wildabouts’ tour bus and they arrested bassist Tommy Black for possession”. The band’s 1992 debut album Core sold eight million copies.
The examination found both cocaine and MDA – a stimulant known as a club party drug – as well as ethanol, which presumably came from alcohol.
After Stone Temple Pilots disbanded in 2003, Weiland joined Velvet Revolver, which was formed by former Guns N’ Roses members who’d had enough of Axl Rose.
Weiland had a long string of arrests and stints in rehab as a result of his struggle with drugs and alcohol.

He rose to fame as the frontman of the Grammy Award-winning Stone Temple Pilots, whose hits include Interstate Love Song, Plush, and Vasoline.
