Scientists at LHC Find Hints of New Particle with Extremely High Energy

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN in Switzerland may have discovered a previously-unknown particle.

He agreed to a framework that would have granted provisional legalization without insisting on security improvements first. And eventually they’ll succeed. “He strongly supported legalizing people that were in this country illegally”.

The detection of proton pairs with high energy could be an indicator of discovery of new particle, which could be new to nature.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said he would not second-guess the decisions made in Los Angeles or { New York New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said: “It’s important – very important – not to overreact in situations like this”.

Jim Olsen of Princeton University in New Jersey said the CMS saw only 10 such proton pairs. “We will have to remain on the edges of our seats for a few more months to years.” particle physicist James Beacham, a post-doctoral research fellow with the Ohio State University, said in an interview with Discovery News. If confirmed, the particle, possibly a cousin of the Higgs Boson -particle that explains why other particles have mass – could change the understanding of how the universe works. The gamma rays, the physicists said, could be produced by the radioactive decay of a new particle, in this case perhaps a cousin of the Higgs boson, which itself was first noticed because it decayed into an abundance of gamma rays.

In its latest series of experiments, scientists from two separate teams within CERN have uncovered what researchers say could be a new fundamental particle of nature similar to the Higgs Boson. Though, even it turns out to be nothing at all than too particle physicists have already penned down spate of researches to coincide with the results of the latest experiment that has proposed various ideas about what might have been discovered. The new particle could also be a graviton, the hypothetical quantum carrier of gravity.

What is the Higgs Boson?

A coincidence is probably the most possible rationalization for the shocking bumps in knowledge from the collider, physicists from the experiments cautioned, saying that much more knowledge was wanted and would in reality quickly be out there.

However, at CERN on Dec 15, the first official results were presented by both our CMS collaboration team as well as the ATLAS collaboration teams. It is part of the Standard Model in physics, which means it is found everywhere.

The most popular theory predicting particles detectable at higher energies is called supersymmetry, Krieger said.

“Statistically, you’ll always find a bump somewhere”, says Peter Krieger, spokesperson for the Canadian researchers working on ATLAS and a physics professor at the University of Toronto.

Unfortunately, up to this date, all the data concerning the particle have yet to be analyzed.

However, when the two teams took into account the “look elsewhere effect”, the sigma values further went down to 1.2 and 1.9, respectively, which increased the possibility it were just a spurious result. “I certainly hope we’ll get something interesting in the future, but we don’t know”, Bloom says.
