Real Madrid Could Shock Manchester United By Landing De Gea For Free

The report continues that Real are content to wait until next summer to sign De Gea, when his contract at Old Trafford has expired, and have drawn up a pact with the stopper.

Manchester United have wrapped up the deals Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin in just under 24 hours, leaving many to think that a certain Ed Woodward has been very busy.

Manchester United on the other hand are unlikely to match Real Madrid’s exorbitant asking price and are using David De Gea as a leverage in this deal.

Now according to reports emerging out of Spain, Manchester United are looking to ramp up their pursuit for Ramos and are preparing to table a bid of around €45million for the 29-year old.

After Real Madrid released legend Iker Casillas to Porto, attention shifted to transfer rumors regarding De Gea being wooed by Real.

Manchester United are also keen on the signing Romero following the uncertainty surrounding current keepers David De Gea and Victor Valdes who are both rumoured to be on the move this summer. Their primary target has been Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid. Ramos has made it clear that he wants to leave and United have registered an offer of 45 million euros (£31.6 million).

But the Spanish goalkeeper returned to Carrington for the start of pre-season training last week with the two club so far failing to agree on a fee. That’s especially true when the player they wanted only had one year left on his contract.

Espanyol’s Kiko Casilla has been earmarked as a possible alternative for Real, while it is also suggested they may sign Argentina No. 1 Sergio Romero on a free transfer if necessary, following his release by Sampdoria.

De Gea has been included in United’s squad for the pre-season tour – which rules out any deal in the next week or so.
