It was termed as a clash of the titans when Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dilwale” opposite Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s “Bajirao Mastani” were going to be released on the same day. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is happy to introduce to audiences his longstanding dream starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone & Priyanka Chopra among others. “If this [performance] is compared with solo releases, then the highest non-holiday opening day collection belongs to Dhoom 3 with Rs 32 crore followed by Kick with Rs 26 crore”, he says.

However, trade pundits also believe that had the films released on separate Fridays, each had a chance of getting a big opening. Though “Dilwale” has opened up well, I don’t see “Dilwale” sustaining too long after the weekend.
“Opening of #Dilwale ranges from good to very good to excellent”. Bajirao Mastani is being liked by everyone and getting more positive reactions than Dilwale. In “Bajirao Mastani”, she essays the role of Kashibai, Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao I’s first wife. It’s a real life character. In the beginning we thought that both movies will do good business. “It is an open ground”. When the screen owners moved court, the judgement came in their favour allowing them to showcase both movies according to their wish. The audience response to the film has been good from all age groups especially families. We have not been able to figure out yet as to why won’t this movie be a box office hit!
It is also a battle for more shows and screen space. The actress further said, “Rohit (Shetty)is some one again I have worked with, I know Varun (Dhawan) personally more than professionally and I am very happy for them”.
Pratiksha Patil, who had no idea of why there were protests and the movie shows cancelled, said, “It is an intolerant move by the BJP members”. Shah Rukh and Kajol were seen together in My Name Is Khan in 2010.
