Supreme Court announces slew of measures to curb pollution in Delhi

In addition to the banning of larger engined diesel vehicles, the SC has also announced that it would impose one-time pollution taxes on diesel vehicles with engine displacement less than 2.0-litre.

Chief Justice T.S. Thakur ordered the ban on registration of latest diesel automobiles with engines over 2000cc, typical of SUVs, jeeps and enormous automobiles made by BMW, Toyota and others.
