A mall brawl led to gunfire at a Wisconsin mall Saturday, leaving one man injured and hundreds of shoppers panicked on one of the busiest shopping days of the year, police said.

A Madison police officer said the mall is secure, but did not release further details.

The 19-year old was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Police department spokesman Joel DeSpain said the shooting was not related to terrorism and was not an “active shooter” scenario, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. At 6:15 PM the mall announced on their website that the mall had reopened.

Hadley, 16, and her mother were Christmas shopping at Express, which is located just off the food court, near the center of the mall, when they heard a loud bang.

The dispatcher says no other information is immediately available about the incident.
