The top three were all students, with second place going to 22 year old Russian rose Sofia Nikitchuk, and the enchanting Miss Indonesia Maria Harfanti coming in third out of 116 contestants. Her official bio on the Miss World 2015 page confirms that she has studied up to grade 8 in Musical Language, Harmony and Piano at the Conservatory of the Lyceum of Barcelona.
Miss Spain Mireia Lalaguna Royo won Miss World 2015 on Saturday in Sanya, China. Over the years, by hosting pageants like the Miss World competition, China has attempted to project itself as a modern, peaceful nation.
Miss World Jamaica Dr Sanetta Myrie was the highest placing Caribbean representative, making it into the top five of the finalists.
Australia’s entrant Tess Alexander made it into the competition’s top 10, which featured 114 women.
Ms Lambie, 24, performed a haka during the competition which received mixed commentary on the Miss World New Zealand Facebook page.
The 25-year old actress claimed the decision was due to her stance on China’s human rights record, including its persecution of Falun Gong, a Chinese spiritual group of which she is a practitioner. “I have always been inspired by BWAP, and to be Miss World would fulfill my dreams”, she said.

Another worldwide beauty pageant, Miss Universe 2015, airs live on Sunday on FOX. Miss World Talent went to Miss Guyana, Lisa Punch, World Designer went to Miss Vietnam, and Sports and Fitness victor was Miss Namibia, Steffi Van Wyk.
