HTC Grip gets delayed until later this year
The Grip was made in partnership with athletic brand Under Armour and was meant to show notifications from your phone, track activities, and sync your data with the Under Armour Record platform. The cost of this product was expected to be $199 and was expected to be released this spring, but the company has announced that this fitness band has been delayed from launch till later this year. Well, forget it, because although the company is still planning on releasing their fitness band, it’s going to be quite different.

Every tech company and its four-legged subsidiary is looking to get in on the wearables hype train, so it was far from surprising when HC announced the HTC Grip back at Mobile World Congress this year. HTC has done the same thing with the HTC Grip.
2015 has been an extraordinarily year for HTC. We saw a handful of new products at the event. They didn’t say what that product portfolio would include, but I would imagine there will be some form of a fitness tracker. This product was a wrist band tracker, which comes with a touch screen display and Global Positioning System radio.

It also seems, when the Grip does eventually arrive, it’ll be much changed from the wearable HTC first previewed at MWC in March. A spokesperson explained to Engadget that it’s “decided to align Grip with the entire product portfolio for health and fitness launching later this year”. “Our goal is to offer best-in-class products for our customers and partners”, said a statement from HTC, which appears to have removed the Grip from its website.
