Employers in MN added 7200 jobs in November

Unemployment numbers released Friday by the state Employment Development Department show Fresno County’s unemployment rate in November increased to 9.9 percent from a revised 9.2 percent in October.

The department said the unemployment rate has not been so low since August of 2001.

Minnesota’s unemployment rate fell 0.2 percentage points in November to a seasonally-adjusted 3.5 percent.

A record number of people were working in SC during November. It estimates the number of Californians holding jobs in November was 17,910,000, an increase of 11,000 from October, and up 365,000 from the employment total in November of previous year.

Government gained 2,800 jobs over the month.

TWC officials, in their monthly report, indicated Gaines County’s November jobless rate climbed to 3.4-percent, which was up from 3.3-percent seen in October. The trade, transportation and utilities sectors led the way, adding 14,300 jobs. The four-week average of claims dipped 500 between the November and December survey periods, suggesting another strong month of job gains.

Arkansas’ nonfarm payroll jobs declined 300 in November to total 1,224,100.

The state’s unemployment rate decreased last month, according to data released Friday by the California Employment Development Department.

The biggest statistically significant decrease in the unemployment rate occurred in West Virginia, where joblessness fell by 0.4 percentage points, to 6.5 percent in November.

It also was the first time since January that Arkansas’ unemployment rate was even with or better than the national rate.

The local and state unemployment rates remained well below the national rate of 5 percent. The mining and logging sector lost 800 jobs, nearly 10 percent of the 8,200 jobs reported a year ago.

Of such companies, those in food and other non-durable manufacturing have increased by 100 jobs to 11,400 jobs over the last five years. Average private sector hourly pay rose to $26.49 per hour, compared to $25.88 per hour in November 2014.

Unemployment rates fall in 27 US states amid broad hiring
