No Man Is Gonna Touch Draymond Green’s Head

Andre Iguodala capped a late seven-point run with a three-pointer as the Golden State Warriors avenged their only loss of the season with a 121-112 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday.

Asked whether that was what the altercation was mostly about, Green said, “Once again, I’m not going to go into what he said, what you think he may have said, he may have said or may not have said, but no man is going to touch my head”.

“They (the Bucks) came out and wanted a piece of the champs, and we weren’t fighting back”. “We’re trying to compete for a championship, and there’s a way to win”. “The game stopped with Green & Mayo exchanging heated words before Mayo put his hand on Green’s head”. When Green pushed his arm away, the Bucks’ Khris Middleton moved in and shoved him.

“There are different ways of getting your point across rather than going to the media bashing one of our brothers”, Mayo said. “Mayo, one of seven Bucks who scored in double figures with 12 points, countered, “They’re world champs and we played them well tonight”.

What some thought would be a revenge-fueled blowout for Golden State turned into a hard-fought victory.

Draymond Green backed up his pregame talk about the Bucks and their celebratory antics with 21 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, leading the Warriors on the comeback trail.

“We were very public about the fact that we wanted to get revenge”.

Golden State interim coach Luke Walton said he didn’t want to risk making the issue any worse. “Just respect my teammate as well as we respect you guys, and some things you shouldn’t say in the media”.

After the game, Mayo revealed what went was discussed between him and Green. “We do remember that stuff”, Stephen Curry said Wednesday. “I’m a grown man”. “That’s what we needed at that point”.

The Toronto Raptors downed the Miami Heat 108-94 after DeMar DeRozan scored 30 points and Kyle Lowry added 21, while Andrew Wiggins had 32 points, 10 rebounds and six assists to lift the Minnesota Twins 99-95 over the Sacramento Kings.

“Curry, outplayed much of the night by Carter-Williams, had 10 rebounds and nine assists to go with his 26 points, and Ezeli contributed a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double for the Warriors, who were playing for the second time on a five-game homestand”.

Carter-Williams nailed a 3-pointer coming out of the timeout and backup guard O.J. Mayo, fouled on a 3-point attempt, dropped in three free throws to trigger the quarter-ending run that re-established the Milwaukee lead to eight. “The Bucks held a 100-89 advantage in the fifth minute of the fourth quarter before the Warriors rallied”. Curry hit a 3-pointer in the opening minute to extend his streak to 100 straight regular-season games with a 3-pointer.

The Bucks took their dominance into the third quarter by staying on top of Golden State, but the Warriors, who outshot the Bucks with 27 points in the third, were not done yet. They shot 60 percent in the half as they easily picked apart Golden State’s defense with the highest-scoring first half against the Warriors since Oklahoma City scored 71 on January 17, 2014.
