Cincinnati Bengals: Can AJ McCarron Lead This Team?
While he made a handful of pretty throws up the seams and his deep touchdown to A.J. Green was as good a pass as we saw around the NFL Sunday, the second year quarterback still looked like the deer in headlights at times. Now, not only is a first-round bye in jeopardy, but so is the AFC North. Luckily for Cincy, Dalton won’t need surgery and could be back for the playoffs, potentially keeping the team’s postseason hopes from being doused by injuries for a second straight year. The three have dealt with minor injuries recently and all should be fine for Sunday’s game against the Broncos. If the Bengals go run-heavy to assist McCarron, in that would imply more possibilities for Jeremy Hill – who had come on of late still reverted to first-round fantasy bust standing with Sun.’s no-show – & Gio Bernard. Ben Roethlisberger couldn’t find the end zone against the Bengals’ tough secondary, but Pittsburgh’s defense carried the day by picking off Dalton and McCarron a combined three times – the key turnovers in the game.
