Pep Guardiola to tell Bayern Munich he is leaving today

Bayern Munich have confirmed that Italian Carlo Ancelotti will be their head coach from the next season for three years after Pep Guardiola on Sunday decided not to renew his contract with the record German football champions.

Rummenigge also told Bild that Ancelotti had agreed to sign a three-year contract with Bayern.

But sources in both Germany and Spain indicate that Guardiola has already made a decision to quit Bayern, with City as his destination.

“Carlo is a calm, level-headed expert who knows how to work with stars and plays a brand of football rich in variety”.

He added that Guardiola had experience of working in other leagues, adding that he would definitely look forward to join City.

He also won the Ligue 1 title with PSG, leaving the Bundesliga as the last of the big five European leagues where he’s yet to test his powers.

Guardiola is thought to be close to announcing his future, with the Spaniard expected to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season.

Guardiola, 44, has been linked with Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal. “They have been super all year, be it in the Bundesliga, in the Champions League or in the DFB-Pokal”.

On Ancelotti, who has twice won the Champions League with AC Milan and once with Real Madrid, Hitzfeld said: “He doesn’t stick to his system”.

Although he is yet to win the tournament with in Bavaria, Guardiola’s win ratio is actually better with Bayern (66.67 per cent) than it was with Barca (60 per cent). “I am sure he will be very important for the club”. That was the last time Bayern won the Champions League as the Heynckes-led team swept to the treble.

Muller is now enjoying one of his most prolific seasons in a Bayern shirt, having netted 13 Bundesliga goals with less than half of the season completed.

City are reportedly on high alert after the highly-rated Bayern Munich boss suggested he could make an announcement about his future next week. I don’t know if it will be next season here at City, or even at another club, but I am sure that one day he will come to the Premier League.
