Chelsea: ‘Palpable discord’ between Jose & players
It was the first time he had taken his trusty skipper off in the heat of battle. “Sad sad day”, posted Terry on Instagram as the fallout over Mourinho’s exit continued.

“I give everything I have, sometimes maybe too much, sometimes maybe too emotional”, he says. Chelsea Football Club is an empire, they have won so many things, and Jose has been a big part of this success and Jose earned the right to stay at the football club longer than most and he did.
Mourinho has always drawn strength from the battles he seeks to wage on what he perceives to be outside forces – referees, opposition managers, television pundits – but those battles seemed to consume him.
“Hiddink is a great expert and an even better psychologist, hence I am confident he will get Chelsea back to winning ways in the Premier League and go all the way in the Champions League”.
“Depending on the outcome, I will determine whether I remain longer in London to discuss the matter further”.
And it was followed with a club statement noting that Mourinho is “the most successful manager in our 110-year history”. The Israeli was the one to take over from Mourinho the last time he left Chelsea.
Emenalo, who pointedly refused to use Mourinho’s name in an interview with the club’s in-house television channel, said: “The new contract signifies that what happened today was not a premeditated decision”.
Chelsea insisted Mourinho’s Thursday afternoon exit was by “mutual consent”, only for technical director Michael Emenalo to then cite “palpable discord” between the manager and the players for the 52-year-old’s departure. The Portuguese’s long-term assistants Rui Faria and Silvino Louro have also left the club.
“Gonna miss you Boss”. “I’m not speaking about Jurgen, I’ve a good relationship with him and nothing will change that”.
“I don’t believe that any player would deliberately have bad training let alone a bad game, they are all professional, top class players, so I don’t believe in that story”.
Former Holland midfielder Bolo Zenden, who has worked under Hiddink in the past, backed the veteran Dutchman to raise spirits quickly if called into action at Stamford Bridge.
It concludes a spectacular fall from grace for Mourinho, rated as one of the world’s best coaches, who declared himself the “happy one” when he returned for a second stint in charge of Chelsea in 2013 after spells at Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
“Each time represents for him the end of a cycle, and the opportunity to start a new one”.

We’re not sure about the Hiddink exclusive – it’s been everywhere after the Football Federation Australia said Hiddink was heading to Chelsea.
