Arsene Wenger downplays importance of Manchester City showdown
Arsene Wenger has piled the praise on Mesut Ozil for his recent Arsenal form.

The league leaders have only lost once this season – a 5-2 defeat at the hands of Wenger’s men in September.
He said: “There is a very slight chance for Sanchez to be in the squad again, but it is too early to be sure about it”.
“I don’t want to be detrimental to David Ospina because he was exceptional previous year, but Petr Cech has done it all, so he is someone who gives you an aura, a charisma that is always important in the big games for the players”.
Although Hernandez would be cup tied for the Champions League, Don Balon, a noted football outlet in Spain, believe that Arsenal could well move for him. “Players who make you score are hard to find”. That is what Mesut is about.
“He has added runs into the box now”. “Medically, my people think he will not be ready in time – but Alexis being Alexis, you just never know”. “I think he has become an absolutely unbelievable player”. The only concern that I can have in my profession is to try and win the next game and to win the Premier League.
Reclaiming the title and perhaps winning other silverware this season would make any decision to remove Pellegrini next summer, even if Guardiola was available, seem particularly harsh. “We have played 16 games and the top team is on 35 points, so it means that the Premier League could be decided at around 80 points”, Wenger told reporters on Thursday.
Only three points separate Leicester, Arsenal and Manchester City at the top of the table and Wenger stressed how important it is for the Gunners to take points off their main rivals this season, starting with Manchester City on Monday night. When you talk to everyone about football, I think anything is possible.

“We have a good opportunity to show that we can beat them, as we have done it against Bayern”.
