Berkeley police and firefighters were called to the residence on the 2900 block of Channing Way at about 7:30 a.m., Lt. Andrew Rateaver said.
Police have confirmed to KTVU, that the body of a man, in his early 20s, was found inside the building. They pronounced him dead on scene.
“In this case, we just don’t know specifically what may have caused his death, so it’s classified as suspicious”, Berkeley Police Officer Jennifer Coats told KTVU.
Check back for updates. It’s not clear how the man died – or if he was a UC student. The circumstances surrounding the death, however, remain unknown. His blood alchohol level was revealed to be.31, which is near fatal levels.
