Chargers win for fans in possible final game in San Diego
“They present their own challenges, and if we go out there and we’re not ready, they’ll beat the crap out of us”.

The Chargers made life hard for Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
It seems like the Chargers might have played their last home game in San Diego – at least that’s the feeling after their Week 15 matchup with the Dolphins.
“I’m not going to lie, I might shed a few tears before the day is done”, said Silva. “To come out and play like this on both sides of the ball is unacceptable in every sense of the word”. The Dolphins had 49 total yards of offense until moving 28 yards on the final-seconds possession gave them 77 for the half. Reshad Jones picked off a deflected Rivers pass, but had bad ball security on the return.
Tannehill passed for 216 yards, connecting on 20 of 34 attempts.
Jarvis Landry set a Dolphins record Sunday when he caught his 91st pass of the season against the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers are very high on him going forward. “The later they bring in personnel, you identify it, then the later the call comes in so there was a little bit of confusion”. “It affected everything else that we did”.
1994 PLAYOFF VICTORY: The Chargers were propelled to the AFC championship game with a heart-stopping 22-21 home victory over Dan Marino and the Miami Dolphins.
Key stat: Danny Woodhead’s 2-yard plunge was SD’s first rush TD since Week 1.
-RB Melvin Gordon left in the second quarter with a knee injury.
Rivers spotted linebacker Kevin Sheppard covering Woodhead and took advantage. Junior Seau had one of the finest games of his Hall of Fame career, and “Touchdown Tony” Martin’s over-the-shoulder catch of Stan Humphries’ 43-yard heave was the game-winner. Lambo missed the extra point for a 6-0 Chargers lead.
FAST FACTS: Since he became the starter in 2006, Rivers has gone two straight games without a touchdown pass only one other time.
“I don’t’ want to get too emotional”, Floyd said. “We got behind the chains a couple of times and put ourselves in third-and-long”, Tannehill said.
The notion of the Chiefs in the playoffs after six games was easy to dismiss but the way they are playing right now, there isn’t a team in the conference who won’t fear playing against them, especially if Houston is back in action. Inman’s availability was crucial with Stevie Johnson (groin) inactive.

Leading 23-0, Philip Rivers flung a deep ball down the Miami sideline to Malcom Floyd, who vaulted into the air while hugging his defender and pinned the ball to that defender’s back to make a first-down catch. It appears Gates is toying with coming back for another season, but with his contract expiring, there’s no guarantee it would be with the Chargers. Dolphins RT Jason Fox started in place of Ja’Wuan James…. An injury to LT Branden Albert left Miami’s O-line with four sub-par blockers.
