Ferne McCann’s ‘cruel’ live spider trial prompts hundreds of viewer complaints

“It wasn’t so much what I wanted, more just what was in the canteen tent at the time”.

“It’s time for the producers of I’m a Celebrity… to be called not just before the court of public opinion but also before a court of law”.

However, Fearne didn’t have long to soak up the sun, as she later posted another picture of her and Vicky Pattison – who was crowned as this year’s jungle queen – heading back to the UK.

And she said she’s “not jealous” of the blossoming relationship between campmate Ferne McCann and George Shelley, saying “he’s too young for me”.

I’m A Celebrity, which debuted in Australia in 2015, has become notorious for its hard-to-watch eating challenges.

The comments follow this year’s final, which saw Ferne McCann eating a live spider in the last Bushtucker Trial. I was doing things I knew weren’t right and, unfortunately, this meant that my mum could not be proud of me then.

The dark-haired presenter looked a tad disappointed, but Vicky powered through and went on to explain that she was till in shock after winning the fifteenth series of I’m A Celeb. She said, “Don’t have sex in the jungle and don’t say the C-word”.

When pressed to select a victor, she said: “Don’t make me choose”.

Another wrote: “George – one of the most boring contestants ever – beats Ferne – who ate a live spider”.

Jorgie was beaming with delight when she was told that she was leaving the jungle alongside her campmate Kieron Dyer. “I never thought about life after the jungle”.

Next was McCann, who braved her way through the Bushtucker Bonanza, refusing platefuls of pizza, beef pie, roast chicken and profiteroles and instead swallowing a witchetty grub, lamb’s brain, the end of a bull’s penis and a live water spider over a mountain of profiteroles.

Host Ant McPartlin said she was a hero for taking one for the team and gulping the spider down. Ferne was also relieved to find out Chris Eubank did actually say purple during their discussion in the phone box (which resulted in a camp argument) and she wasn’t going mad!
