Amber Heard charges in dog smuggling case
The charges include alleged importing of the couple’s terriers without proper permission and for providing false documents. Presenting of false documents such as that of an incoming passenger card, on the other hand, may lead to one year in prison and a fine of $10,200, The Australian said.

Joyce then threatened to euthanize the dogs if the couple did not remove them from Australia within a 72-hour window.
Heard was not likely to face charges since she brought them back to the USA before the 72 hour time frame was up, Us Weekly reported.
A statement released by Australia’s Department of Agriculture reads: “Ms Amber Heard was served with a summons issued by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions on July 14”.
The Department of Agriculture confirmed the summons had been issued to the 29-year-old actress on Wednesday.
Depp is now filming the latest instalment of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise in Australia’s Gold Coast.
“He was going from room to room seeing all the kids who couldn’t get out of bed”, Max’s mom Rachel told ABC Australia of the star’s visit. (Australia requires dogs to be quarantined for at least 10 days upon entering the country.).
Reports said the case was due to be heard in September in a Queensland state court, though it is not known whether Heard will appear in person.
The minister said he didn’t care if Depp had been voted the “sexiest man alive”, he still had to adhere to quarantine rules.
Joyce says he is pleased the law has caught up with Heard.
“No, it’s not. The law is the same for everybody”, Joyce told reporters in Perth. He added that even if she was convicted, Heard will not possibly face a very long jail time especially after the dogs were flown back to the USA before the given deadline.

She added: “I guess everyone tries to go for their 15 minutes, including some government officials”. The couple’s family pets, two Yorkshire terriers named Boo and Pistol, joined them and were later photographed at a dog-grooming salon on the Gold Coast.
