In last week’s game, San Diego suffered a loss at the hands of the Chiefs 10-3.

RUN, MELVIN, RUN: Gordon, the Chargers’ first-round draft pick, has yet to score his first touchdown. Some will be angry at team Chairman Dean Spanos, who, through an attorney who used to be deputy mayor of Los Angeles, has seemingly been trying to beat St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke to the perceived riches of L.A. Fans were stunned in February when the Chargers announced a partnership with their hated rivals, the Oakland Raiders, to build a stadium in Carson.
Key play: Chargers RB Danny Woodhead caught a 20-yard pass for a 6-0 lead (Josh Lambo missed the one-point kick). “It’s more than just us that this affects, obviously, if it is the last time”, Rivers said.
“It’s always tough to lose an offensive lineman because we work off chemistry, but when you lose guys you call captains, established vets, Pro Bowl caliber guys, it’s tough”, said Billy Turner, the Dolphins’ starting right guard.
The Chargers made life hard for Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
The Chargers have played in San Diego since 1961, after spending their first-ever season in Los Angeles. Rivers threw for 311 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions on 26-of-36 passing. The good news for Miami is Rivers has been sacked 35 times, tied for fifth-most in the NFL.
The Chargers take on the Miami Dolphins at 1:25 p.m. Sunday. Moving on to the Miami defense, there are certain areas where it measures up well against the Chargers. Each of the Dolphins’ first five possessions ended with a punt. “We’ll see what kind of character we’ve got on this football team”. They held Dolphins running back Lamar Miller to 12 yards on nine carries despite Miller playing well in recent games. They haven’t allowed a 300-yard passer this season, either. The secondary especially struggled getting in the right spots.
Miami Dolphins may be out of playoff contention, but their head coach Dan Campbell has helped motivate them into believing they have a lot to play for.
“You want them to at least end it with a memory that was unique”. Dolphins LB Chris McCain was carted off. Franklin’s holding penalty nixed a 9-yard rush by RB Donald Brown.
No one knows quite how to approach Sunday’s game. “I could hear him scream, “my knee, ‘” Scifres said. I want to make it a game to remember”. Instead he was benched.
“The front seven said they are not going to run the ball on us”, inside linebacker Denzel Perryman said. “And we were also in the mode where we weren’t going to be able to run it anymore”.
SUH’S SEASON: Miami defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is nearing the end of his sixth National Football League season, and his first in Miami with a $114 million contract.

“I could get emotional thinking about it”, Rivers said this week.
