Cloudy start ahead of more wet weather — FORECAST

Temperatures are on the rise in Northeast Ohio. Calm wind becoming east around 5 miles per hour after midnight.

As for Christmas Day, the early forecast is for highs near 50 with partly sunny skies.

Tonight is the Winter Solstice.

Tuesday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers. Winds SSW at 20 to 30 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 70%. South wind 3 to 6 miles per hour.

A colder trough of low pressure will move in Thursday, bringing showers and cool temperatures Christmas Eve. New precipitation amounts of less than a 10th of an inch possible.

The result will be lots of clouds and a slight chance for showers on Tuesday. Breezy, with a south southeast wind 10 to 15 miles per hour increasing to 15 to 20 miles per hour in the afternoon.

Friday night: A chance of rain. South wind 5 to 10 miles per hour.
